The Times Festival of Reading A great literary tradition in St Petersburg, is the book fair sponsored by the St Petrsburg Times. In the fall of most years, you will find a booth with a good selection of critical, philosophical, scientific, and skeptical literature with the banner of Florida Atheists over it. Stop in and say hello!
Circus McGurkis An annual event, where Atheists of Florida is present is Circus McGurkis, The People's Fair. Held the last Saturday in October in Lakeview Park in St. Petersburg, the A of F table displays newsletters, pamphlets, many books of interest to atheists, T-shirts and membership applications. This one-day event offers an opportunity for Atheists to meet and speak with the public.
Elm Street Flea Market During the active school year, Atheists of Florida has a booth at the University of South Florida Elm Street Flea Market in Tampa each Wednesday. Our table displays newsletters, pamphlets, several books of interest to atheists, T-shirts and membership applications. Students may meet atheists and discuss and learn about the atheist philosophy.
Cable Video Outreach Atheists of Florida has produced 60 thirty minute videos available for cable TV, or, viewing at meetings or seminars. These programs cover a wide variety of topics concerning atheism, including state/church separation issues, philosophy of atheism, evolution, religious intrusion into our personal lives and government, and other topics. Newsletter Atheists of Florida publishes several newsletters per year. Membership in Atheists of Florida includes a subscription to the newsletter. Our online edition is available as a PDF here.
